Final Magazine

Question 1 - What ways does your media product use, develop or challenge form and conventions of real media products?

Question 2 - How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Here is my Final Front cover. contents and double page spread. I think i have targeted my audience well as i have researched RMA's and the codes and conventions of a pop magazine and included that all into my magazine.

These are the type of girls who are my target audience, the girls who will read my magazine will be fun, socialable and love gossip. I think my magazine represents all of this as my magazine is filled with gossip and most of the girls who will read this will have twitter or facebook and using social networking sites to communicate with their friends about all the latest things happening in my magazine and all the gossip. The girls who read this will be very much into boys as the magazine is for girls and i think at that age is where you start to grow up and learn all about the real world and yourself. It is also interesting to read about your favourite star and what they are getting up too. I have represented the stars i have included as fun, crazy and outgoing as that what my readers will be interested in. They dont want to read about someone who is boring, doesnt go out or have anything interesting to say. So by having someone fun and exiting it is more interesting for the reader to look at and want to talk about and also makes a good story.

I have used an attractive young male on my front cover as i think this shows who my target audience is which is young females aged 13-16. By having a male on the cover it attracts girls to buy it as it whilst doing my research my target audience wanted a male on the front as most of my audience are attracted to young males like 'Sam Lloyd'. What he is wearing is quite fashionable and in at the moment and i would like to think that my target audience are fashionable as well even if he is male i think my audience would be attracted to the way he is dressed as i think it tells a lot about him.

My colour scheme is mainly pink and blue. I think this represents my target audience quite well as we associate baby pink and blue with females. I have used pink and blue because i think they are very eye catching and appeal to my audience as i think these colours would be what they like. When researching RMA's all of the pop magazines have bright colours to try and catch the audiences eye and make you want to look at it and buy the magazine.

I have used very simple language so it is easier for my audience to read and understand and not to confuse them by using informal language which some of my older target audience might use. By using simple language everyone can understand what im trying to get across without them getting confused or trying to hard to think about it and i think this will help my show who my audience is.

On my front cover and contents page i have included the names of popular pop artists who would appeal to my target audience such as justin bieber, ariana grande and the wanted who i have shown above. Having these artists tells you instantly that my magazine is pop and is aimed at young/teen females

Mrs D

All your posts look detailed and you have made a really good start to the process. Make sure your mes of your images match the genre and most mag front covers use mid shots / medium close ups. Keep up the good work.

Genre Indicators

How can I tell my magazine is a pop magazine? • The title of my magazine = Pop talk • The artists I use on the front and within the magazine • Colour scheme is very girly = pinks and blues • I will include make up, beauty tips • Competitions relevant to the genre • My ‘artist’ who’s on the front will attract the female attention
